Mmm, it a kind of sad day to bit farewell to old friend, Wira Aeroback NGV to another owner. This morning I completed change of ownership procedure in JPJ Bandar Tasik Permaisuri.
I done my Puspakom inspection on Saturday. I'll blog about it in much more detail in later entry. Well. life must go on. Tara to my wira for all the years.
I'm sorry to all those guys that call me and offer to buy my car. There's one guy from Kluang, Johor that was really interested to buy it. I'm sorry the car goes to the first person that viewed the car in the evening of the same day it advertised in Mudah. Thanks for calling anyway.

NGV Gas inlet changed
On Saturday, I went to Suria NGV. I changed my leaky gas inlet. It cost me RM 150. That one is not the new one, it used part. The new one cost about RM 280. I changed the rubber rings twice in the old part before I decided to change to a new one.
I tried to refill on Sunday and it's working. One problem solved but there's another one or two.
First, my meter is not working.
Second, I cannot use petrol.
Ahh..Life is full of challenges.
I thought of doing service package of RM 88 for Iswara and RM 98 for Wira offered by Suria. It includes tapet adjustment, oil filter, air filter, oil and tuning. May be next month...

my ngv is not working
My car's ngv is not working. Since last time I wrote in this blog, I replaced my carburetor with generic China made one since the original cost a lot more. The mechanic did not really know how to fit it properly.
Now, I cannot switch on my car on gas. Pity. More money to spend on petrol 2 to 3 times more money spend on fuel. Normally, 1 week I spent about RM 30 to 40 now, RM 30 for 2-3 day only.
I will try to fix it this Saturday. If not, headache. In the meantime just drink alkaline water from my best water filter, Hai O.
Let see if I can fix this problem next week.
To all of you have a great weekend. Hope mine will.....Tara

O ring to the rescue.
It seems like been a long time since I'm writing in this blog. Nothing really much happened to my ngv car. It seems working fine except small small item. Yesterday, I simply replaced my O ring. It cost me RM 2.00. A simple O ring that I think you can get it in hardware shop for 50 cent. This is second time, I replaced it. I just get it from the pump attendant.
I think it is vital to check it since I noticed when I lock the hose to my inlet pipe, I can hear gas escaping. I may be wrong but it may well happens. So, you lose some gas to the environment and not to your tank. For me, it is important since less gas in, less mileage and I need to refuel more often. I wish I can put 2 gas tank to my car so that I don't have to refuel every 2 day or less. Then, it's not practical. Heavy and taking up some much space.

Less than a week to go
Eid is coming. Service your car for long journey home to beloved hometown. I'll like to share with you of getting the most of using NGV (gas). I frequently go down south particularly Kota Tinggi, Johor for work. I normally fill up gas at Subang Airport's Petronas (where else) and petrol too. I managed about 190 km. That's from Subang Jaya (NKVE) to over Ayer Keroh exit. I really push it until the end...I'm not recommend you to do this.
When it's about to go out, I pull my car to the highway kerb and change to petrol. Next I continue my journey until Ayer Hitam where I refuel the gas. It's really near the toll booth. Exit the highway. Turn right (traffic light) and go about 100 to 200 metres from there on the right. You can see Shell first on the right before you see Petronas. It's a huge station and rather new but only one pump (two hoses). It's really convenient because of not many car waiting.
Once refilled, I continue back the journey back through highway. Exit Kulai, there's two Petronas station with gas. One on the right (from highway through Kulai town), and one on the road to Kota Tinggi.
There you go, Have a Safe Journey and Happy Hari Raya.

Petrol price goes up and up and up
Have you heard in the news, the new petrol RON95 will be selling at RM 1.80 from previous price of RM 1.75. RON97 (the existing fuel) is now considered PREMIUM fuel and sells at RM 2.05.
My point is people will select RON95 regardless what others say, simply because of the price.
Good news is the gas price for NGV user is still the same. Petrol price had been increased drastically, then decreased gradually and the gas price is still the same. I'm really glad that I'm NGV user.

A total loss...
It's one thing about buying a good expansive car. You'll definitely think you are untouchable. Look at me...I can afford it and my car has more stars of NCAP with a lot of gizmos in it...ABS,airbag, side airbag, blah..blah...blah..
But the truth is you are what you are.
Drive carefully and responsibly. Don't let these things happened..I bet although the driver survived or gladly survived, the impact must takes its toll to the body. Human body is only a soft flesh wrapped around bones.

It's scary but luckily the driver survived. So to all of us, 'Drive Carefully'. More photos in here.

Balik kampung time...
It's a festive season once again, as in Malaysia, we're blessed with 3 or 4 major festivities such as Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Hari Raya and Christmas and no matter what your religion is, festive season is the moment where we all celebrate the unique situation that not really happened in other part of the world.
NGV user having enjoyed the saving part of using compressed natural gas as an alternative fuel, surely, would want to still using it when travelling back to our kampung or urban 'kampung'. Unfortunately for us, there's no where we can show off our huge gas tank at the back of our car. Speaking with, almost all NGV refuelling station located around Klang Valley.
Here is the list from Petronas on where about of the stations but it still not updated. I noticed several newly opened stations were not listed in there.
Check out NGV stations. It's worth to print out and put it in your dashboard.
I had experienced on our journey back to my kampung in Perak. I filled up the gas tank together with my petrol tank. I filled up at NGV station near Selayang. I drove all the way north and let the gas run dry. Caution, when the gas ran out, the power cut almost immediately, you must direct your car to the emergency lane on the highway. Be be prepare when the indicator light turned red.
Anyway, I managed to drive it just after the old Jelapang tol plaza on the way up climbing the steep slope. I drove around 180 km on a single full tank journey whicwas about a little bit more than RM 10.00. What a drive. That the interesting part to tell anybody who's willing to ask or interested.
The non-intersting part was it's only one way. Continuing the journey to and back from kampung was on petrol. So, the saving is only partial but at least it helps.
So, to all fellow NGV user, filled up your gas tank and enjoy the saving albeit half way. Happy holiday and safe driving.
Happy Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to all muslims and to all non-muslims, enjoy the long holidays and indulge yourself in the festive moods.

Refueling your NGV...manners
Refueling compressed natural gas (CNG) is a litte bit different from refueling petrol. It takes about twice the time taken to fuel up your tank gas. Adds up to waiting several cars especially behind those taxis, easily it takes 10 to 15 minutes.
Acknowledge this, efficiency of operator with the help the car owner is quite crucial. As most of NGV user are male; it should not be a problem for a little help to speed up time.
Roughly I listed several things that should be in practice i.e unwritten rules:
1) Release your hood while waiting, so that when it comes to your turn, the operator can open it straight away. Some taxis even open the hood which I would not prefer as you will drive your car through small opening in between the hood.
2) When you reached the refueling station, go out and open the hood, if the operator is busy on others. It's fine if the operator is not so busy, he can do it for you. Cut the crap. Throw your ego away. It's after all, the cheapest fuel at hugely subsidize price of 68 sen per litre. So, you in it because you are not bother mixing around with those who need it.
3)Sometimes, when you open your hood, the operator will get the hose and start refueling.
4) If still no operator available, go grab that hose. Press that 'START' button or switch. Then, latch it to your inlet valve and turn on the switch. That it, easy.Relax and watch for the meter. Prepare your money and some loose change.
5)After your gas tank fully filled, the operator will unhook it. Now, you hand in your money and you can close your hood. You wait for your change and off you go. I normally reset my speedometer, so I know when exactly I have to refuel.
6) If not operator available, unhook it yourself, close your hood and hand in your payment.
p.s
This guide is intended for some user which new to NGV. It's not trying to ridicule anybody. After all, even when you refueling using petrol, you have to do everything by your own. It not an issue actually. Just to make life easier for us and everybody. "Happy Driving".

A portable car...
From this to...
this one.

Car in the suitcase. Or rather a small mini tricycle. It's such a novelty thing to have. No specific uses but if you have extra cash then why not. But it's not available in the market.
I rather go for a fold-bicycle.
Check out more

It's a car or big boy toy?
Stand up! Introducing Flatmobile, the lowest street car as recognized by Guiness World Records.
It's only 19 inches (48 cm ) tall. Hei, I like to have one, cruising around my town... NOT in a city though, you definitely gonna suck in exhaust fumes from other vehicles.
Word of caution, other driver may not notice you on their side mirror and you will be flat out in the flatmobile if they change lane. No...

Find it more in George's space

Bye 2007, Hello 2008
Welcome 2008. Thanks 2007.
In 2007, I was introduced to compressed natural gas as a substitute to petrol or gasoline. I'm more attracted to low price of gas rather the green sides that finally convinced me to installed conversion kit on my 10-year-old Wira Aeroback. Despite all the negative and skeptical views from close friends, I determined to go ahead.
Now, after about 6 months into NGV, I'm a fairly satisfied customer. Of course, in all things, you will only know the whole truth when you are in it. After all, its not all roses in using compressed natural gas. There's some regular maintenance that you need to do every 20 000 km or 3 to 4 months.
Besides that you need to bear with waiting in lines, limited number of refilling stations (especially you are out of KL), increase car weight, less car boot space, increase awareness to availability of remaining gas in the tank while driving, limited amount of gas can be refilled at one time and a whole lot more.
(Wait for my 6-month review on using gas)
So, 2007, I'm quite content with it and hello 2008. Hope it will bring more joy to NGV user.
Happy New Year everybody...

Is it a bike or a car? No, it's both...sort of

I think this is the most fun toy ever built. It's revolutionary. It has 3 wheels, it tilts like a bike and it's also a hybrid vehicle.
It can accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6 seconds with a top speed of over 100 mph

There's lot more in the official "VentureOne" site
